SERVICES

The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art methodologies and equipment to provide clinical testing in Clinical Chemistry, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Immunology, Microbiology, selected Endocrinology, EKG, Blood Gas Analysis, Immunohematology and Blood/Blood Component Transfusion Services.

The laboratory is licensed by HCFA as a “High Complex Testing Laboratory”.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF

Laboratory Director: Dr. William Shores (Mayo Health System).

Technical Supervisor: Dr. Frank Foss (LCM Pathologist, P.C.).

Blood Transfusion Service Director: Dr. Frank Foss (LCM Pathologist, P.C.).

Laboratory Manager: Kay Carlson CLS (BS)

Lab support staff include: Consulting Medical Technologist, LCM Pathologist, P.C., Clinical Consultants, Lab Testing Personnel (Medical Technologists and/or Medical Lab Technicians and/or Phlebotomists).

CONSULTATION AND CLIENT SERVICES

Laboratory staff and the LCM Pathologist are available 24-hours a day for consultation concerning your request for any test reports, to alert you of significant and/or life threatening lab values, specimen collection, specimen preparation, specimen transportation, clinical procedures, normal patient values, normal patient values, or any problems which occur in the course of patient management.

MISCELLANEOUS

The Laboratory also operates and functions as a “Reference Lab”, which will accept specimens for testing daily from other facilities.

QUALITY CONTROL

Internal quality control is a primary, day-to-day function, which is just a few of the may quality control measures which assure consistent, accurate, and meaningful results.

External quality control is achieved by participation in proficiency testing programs of the American Association of Bioanalysists and the Wisconsin State Health Department.

REFERAL LAB TESTS

Requests for tests, which are not performed at our lab, are referred to reputable and licensed laboratories.

LAB HOURS

Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (staffed)

Saturday – Sunday: 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (staffed)

Holidays: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (staffed)

Lab hours not staffed are covered by a lab tech that

is assigned to be “On Call” for all requested lab services.

REQUESTING LAB SERVICES/TESTING

Services/testing is requested by written, verbal, fax or telephone orders. Telephoned or verbal test requests need to be followed with written authorization.
